To qualify, the applicant must have secured admission in a top 50 QS-ranked U.S. university and must have either a valid GRE General score of at least 300 or an HEC HAT score of at least 60%. 1

Category II: QS Ranked U.S. Universities 51–100

Applicants admitted to U.S. universities ranked 51–100 may receive:

Tuition support up to USD 12,000 per year
Annual stipend of USD 19,200
Health insurance support of USD 2,000 per year

For this category, students must also have secured admission in an eligible U.S. university and hold either a valid GRE General score of 300 or HAT score of 60%. HEC has advised applicants to secure university funding where possible because any tuition difference may need to be managed by the applicant.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet both general and specific eligibility requirements.

The main eligibility conditions are:

Pakistani or AJK nationality
Minimum four-year Bachelor’s degree, such as BS, BSc, BE or equivalent 16 years of education
No second or third division in the entire academic career for Category I and II
Maximum age of 35 years for general applicants
Maximum age of 40 years for regular government employees, public-sector university faculty, government college faculty and approved R&D researchers
Applicant must not already be availing another scholarship
Existing PhD degree holders are not eligible under HEC’s general criteria for this program.
