Pakistan Tests Extended-Range Fatah-4
Pakistan successfully tested an extended-range version of the Fatah-4 ground-launched cruise missile on October 6, 2026. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced the successful test.
The Fatah-4 is a locally developed missile system. Pakistan has continued to improve the system through regular tests. The latest test focused on the extended-range version of the missile.
Advanced Navigation System
According to ISPR, the missile uses advanced avionics and modern navigation systems. These systems help the missile reach targets at longer distances with high accuracy.
The test also checked several parts of the missile system. These tests focused on better accuracy and improved survivability.
The military did not announce the exact range of the new version. Pakistan had earlier tested the Fatah-4 at a range of 750 kilometres in September 2025. The new test confirms that Pakistan is working on an extended-range version.
Army Officers Witness Test
Senior Pakistan Army officers watched the launch. Scientists and engineers from the development team also attended the test.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir praised the successful test. The services chiefs also congratulated the teams involved in the programme.
Continued Fatah-4 Development
Pakistan has carried out several Fatah-4 tests in recent years. The Army Rocket Force Command conducted another successful Fatah-4 test in May 2026.
The continued tests help Pakistan check the missile’s performance and improve its systems. The latest launch also shows the country’s focus on locally developed defence technology.
What the Latest Test Means
The latest Fatah-4 test adds another step to Pakistan’s conventional missile programme. The extended-range version is designed to strike targets at greater distances while maintaining high accuracy.
Pakistan has not yet released full technical details of the new version. This includes its exact maximum range, payload and other specifications. Further information may become available after future tests or official announcements.
