Saudi Arabia’s low-cost airline Flynas is preparing to expand its operations in Pakistan by introducing a new international route connecting Sialkot with Jeddah. The airline is reportedly planning to operate three weekly flights between the two cities within November 2026. The proposed expansion will provide passengers from Sialkot and surrounding areas with another direct travel option to Saudi Arabia, strengthening air connectivity between Pakistan and the Kingdom.
The development follows a meeting between a five-member Flynas delegation and senior officials of Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL). The airline delegation was led by Manzoor Thanvi, Flynas Pakistan Country Manager. The discussions focused on the airline’s plans to begin operations from Sialkot International Airport and the opportunities associated with expanding its presence in the Pakistani aviation market.
Flynas Plans Three Weekly Flights Between Sialkot and Jeddah
Under the reported plan, Flynas intends to introduce three weekly flights connecting Sialkot International Airport with King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. The service is expected to provide passengers with a direct connection between Pakistan’s industrial city and one of Saudi Arabia’s most important commercial and religious destinations.
The proposed route could benefit passengers who currently travel through other airports to reach Saudi Arabia. Direct flights from Sialkot would offer greater convenience to residents of the city and nearby districts, potentially reducing the time and additional travel arrangements required to reach international departure airports.
However, the airline has not yet publicly confirmed the exact operating days, flight timings, ticket prices or the final launch date. These details will need to be verified through an official airline announcement and booking schedule.
Important Meeting Between Flynas and Sialkot Airport Officials
The planned expansion follows a meeting between Flynas representatives and the management of Sialkot International Airport. The five-member airline delegation was headed by Manzoor Thanvi, the airline’s Pakistan Country Manager.
SIAL Chairman Malik Abdul Ghafoor welcomed the Flynas delegation and expressed enthusiasm about the airline’s plans to begin operations from the airport. The meeting also included Mian Naeem Javed, Convenor of the Business Development Committee, and retired Air Vice Marshal Tanweer Ashraf Bhatti, Chief Executive Officer of Sialkot International Airport Limited.
The discussions highlighted the importance of attracting additional international airlines to Sialkot and strengthening the airport’s role in regional and international air travel. The proposed Flynas service could further expand the airport’s international network and provide passengers with more choices.
Better Travel Options for Pakistani Workers and Families
Saudi Arabia remains an important destination for Pakistani workers, business travellers and families. Thousands of Pakistanis travel between the two countries for employment, business activities, religious visits and family reasons.
The new Sialkot–Jeddah connection could make international travel easier for people living in Sialkot, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Daska, Narowal and other nearby areas. Instead of travelling to another major city to catch an international flight, passengers may be able to begin their journey directly from Sialkot.
The route could also support people travelling to Saudi Arabia for Umrah and other religious purposes. Jeddah serves as a major gateway for pilgrims heading towards Makkah, making direct air connectivity particularly important for travellers from Pakistan.
Strengthening Sialkot’s Position as an International Airport
Sialkot International Airport plays an important role in connecting Pakistan’s industrial and business region with international markets. The city is widely recognised for its manufacturing and export industries, including sports goods, surgical instruments and other products.
Improved international flight connections can benefit businesspeople, exporters and overseas Pakistanis by providing more convenient travel opportunities. Additional airline operations may also contribute to passenger traffic, airport activity and demand for related services.
The arrival of another international carrier would strengthen Sialkot Airport’s position as an important aviation facility for northern and central Punjab. It could also encourage other airlines to consider new routes from the airport if passenger demand continues to grow.
Flynas Continues Expanding Its Pakistani Network
Flynas has been strengthening its connections between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia through additional routes and flight services. In September 2026, the airline launched three weekly direct flights between Dammam and Karachi, demonstrating its continued interest in expanding connectivity between the two countries.
The proposed Sialkot–Jeddah route would represent another step in this expansion. By adding more Pakistani departure points, the airline could reach passengers beyond the country’s largest metropolitan areas and serve communities with significant travel links to Saudi Arabia.
If introduced as planned, the three weekly flights would give passengers in the Sialkot region another option for travelling to Jeddah. The final schedule, fares and booking availability will depend on the airline’s official operational announcement.
What Passengers Should Know Before Booking
Passengers interested in the proposed route should wait for Flynas to publish its confirmed flight schedule before making travel arrangements. Once bookings become available, travellers should check departure dates, baggage allowances, ticket conditions and any additional charges.
Passengers travelling to Saudi Arabia should also ensure that they meet the relevant visa and entry requirements for their purpose of travel. Those planning Umrah, employment or family visits should confirm that their travel documents and permissions are valid before purchasing tickets.
The proposed expansion is a positive development for Sialkot’s international connectivity. Three weekly flights between Sialkot and Jeddah could provide greater convenience for passengers while strengthening travel and business links between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
