In a major development for Pakistan’s tech landscape, Saudi-based GO Telecommunications Group has announced the launch of “GO AI Hub Pakistan,” a dedicated centre focused on artificial intelligence and digital innovation.
The decision was revealed during a high-level meeting between Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja and senior executives of GO Telecommunications at the company’s headquarters in Riyadh.
Strengthening Digital Ties
In the official statement released on Saturday, both sides emphasized collaboration across several strategic sectors — including AI, digital infrastructure, data centres, and human capital development.
The GO AI Hub Pakistan is expected to play a crucial role in:
• Knowledge transfer between Saudi and Pakistani tech sectors
• Training and upskilling local professionals in emerging technologies
• Designing joint digital solutions for both regional and global markets
The initiative reflects the growing digital cooperation between the two nations and aligns with broader Gulf investment interests in Pakistan’s technology ecosystem.
Launch Set for October 2025
The AI hub is scheduled for formal inauguration in October 2025. Senior officials, investors, and technology leaders from both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are expected to attend the launch ceremony.
The project is being seen as a new chapter in bilateral cooperation, one that goes beyond traditional trade and labor ties toward high-tech collaboration.
Focus on Infrastructure and Talent
During the meeting, discussions also touched on future partnerships in:
• Development of data centres
• Expansion of digital infrastructure in Pakistan
• Training programmes to build a skilled tech workforce
These efforts are intended to support Pakistan’s rapidly growing digital economy and improve regional connectivity.
Pakistan’s Vision Backed by Gulf Investment
Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja has admired GO Telecommunications Group for its expertise in AI, cybersecurity
and data-driven technologies. She kept on saying that the initiative supports Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s “Digital Nation Vision Pakistan,” which seeks to position the country as a regional hub for technology, innovation, and digital services.
The upcoming AI hub is anticipated to open new job opportunities, encourage tech entrepreneurship, and enhance digital capabilities across both the public and private sectors.
As investors keep on showing interest in the Gulf region, Pakistan may soon find itself on a stronger path to technological transformation and cross-border digital collaboration.
