According to sources on Monday, officials have blocked more than 52,000 people from entering the US, UK, and Middle Eastern nations like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as part of a massive crackdown on illegal migration and human smuggling.
52,520 Pakistani nationals have been prohibited from travelling overseas, according to FIA authorities, because of worries about illegal migration, deportation, and criminal activity.
Stricter efforts to stop human trafficking were implemented because many of these people had already been deported from different nations for legal infractions.
The affected persons have been placed on the Passport Control List (PCL) by the Directorate of Passport and Immigration in order to impose the restrictions and prevent them from departing the country. Additionally, an updated list was provided to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), which has been instructed to increase surveillance at international airports and border crossings.

Authorities have stepped up their crackdown, focussing especially on networks involved in human smuggling. According to official data, 1,546 of the 4,210 beggars who were deported from Saudi Arabia were prohibited from travelling.
331 beggars who were deported from different nations have also been prohibited from travelling overseas. Due to security concerns, 46,433 people who were incarcerated in the United Arab Emirates are likewise prohibited from travelling outside.
The travel restrictions imposed on over 52,000 Pakistanis can have several consequences:
- Delayed Travel Plans:
Individuals affected by the restrictions may face delays in their travel plans as they need to provide additional documentation and undergo thorough verification processes.
- Financial Impact:
The need to provide proof of financial resources and confirmed accommodations can be financially burdensome for some travelers.
- Missed Opportunities:
Those traveling for business, education, or personal reasons might miss important opportunities due to the restrictions.
- Inconvenience for Pilgrims:
Pilgrims, especially those traveling for Umrah, may experience inconvenience and delays due to the stringent checks and additional requirements.
- Legal and Humanitarian Concerns:
The restrictions aim to prevent illegal immigration and protect individuals from human trafficking networks. However, they may also cause distress for legitimate travelers who are subjected to rigorous scrutiny.
These measures are intended to curb illegal immigration and ensure that travel is legitimate, but they can also create challenges for those affected.
