Honda is getting ready to give its popular City sedan a fresh new look, with the facelifted 6th-generation model set to debut in Pakistan in the upcoming week. This marks the first significant update since the car was launched in 2021, and it comes at a time when competition in the mid-size sedan market is heating up.

The 6th-generation City arrived in Pakistan in July 2021, substituting the much older 5th-generation version. For four years, it has remained one of Honda’s strongest players in the local lineup, largely appreciated for its

  • Fuel efficiency
  • Smooth drive
  • Reliability in urban settings

With new players like the Toyota Yaris and Changan Alsvin aggressively competing in the same segment, Honda’s decision to refresh the City is basically to keep the sedan relevant and appealing to buyers.

What to Expect from the Facelift

Full details by Honda are not unveiled yet, but industry insiders suggest the facelift will be in line with typical mid-cycle updates. That means subtle alterations to the exterior and interior while keeping the tried-and-tested engines unchanged.

Exterior updates could include

  • Redesigned front
  • Rear bumpers
  • A sleeker grille
  • Refreshed headlamps
  • Taillights

Minor styling tweaks, such as new alloy wheel designs or upgradation of side mirrors, may also be part of the package.

Inside the cabin, buyers will look an

  • Improved dashboard layout with better-quality materials
  • A more intuitive infotainment system
  • Possibly new connectivity or convenience features to align with modern expectations.

Interestingly, these changes are expected to resemble facelifted versions of the City already launched in international markets like Brazil and Thailand. However, the Pakistani version may have slight differences based on local preferences and needs.

Launch Timeline and Competition

As per multiple reports, the facelifted Honda City will officially be disclosed during the first week of September 2025. While the platform and engine choices are anticipated to remain the same without changing anything, the refreshed design and updated features should give it a stronger presence against rivals.

For loyal Honda fans and new buyers alike, the facelifted City depicts not just a car but a continuation of a trusted nameplate that has been integral component of Pakistani roads for decades.
