The Punjab government has rolled out an innovative and citizen-friendly initiative under the CM Punjab Green Credit Program (CMPGCP), giving households a chance to earn money simply by adopting cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions. This program is designed to reward residents who shift toward solar-powered appliances—helping both the environment and their wallets at the same time.
How the Green Credit Reward Works
Under the scheme, households will receive one green credit for every approved solar appliance installed in their homes. Each green credit has a monetary value of Rs 10,000, which can be redeemed after successful verification.
Eligible solar appliances include:
• Solar panels
• Solar geysers
• Solar stoves
• Energy-efficient fans
• Other certified low-carbon devices recommended by the government

For example, if a household makes a sane decision to install three verified solar devices, it can earn Rs. 30,000 in green credits. IT means installing 1 verified solar device will pay you 10,000, and installing 3 will ultimately help you earn 30,000 free of cost.
Simple Submission and Verification Process to earn 10,000 rupees
To participate, residents must upload:
1. Proof of purchase (invoice, receipt, or valid documentation)
2. Utility bill reference number
3. Details of the installed device
All submissions must be made through the MRV form available on the official CMPGCP web portal. Only registered applicants will be processed for verification.
Once the installation is validated by the program’s monitoring system, the applicant becomes eligible to receive their green credits.
Promoting Clean Energy Across Punjab
Officials say the initiative serves two purposes:
1. Helping Families Save Money
By adopting solar appliances, households can massively lower their electricity bills while receiving cash credits as an added incentive.
2. Supporting Punjab’s Climate Goals
The shift toward renewable energy plays a pivotal role in
- Reduce carbon emissions
- Encourages sustainable living
- Contributes to cleaner air and healthier communities.
