To equip young people with cutting-edge tech skills, the Education Ministry and IST establish the “Disruptive Education” project.

The groundbreaking project “Disruptive Education-Creating Foundries of Emerging Tech” was started by the Institute of Space Technology (IST) and LearnOBots to equip Pakistan’s youth with skills for the twenty-first century.

With funding from the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, the project intends to transform the educational system by giving students practical experience in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, space technology, entrepreneurship, and other cutting-edge technologies.

As part of this effort, LearnOBots and IST will recruit and provide specialised training to 150 Tech Fellows.
Following their placement in federal government schools, these fellows will instruct and motivate more than 22,000 students throughout Pakistan, equipping them with the skills they need to succeed in the global digital industry.

An IST official emphasised the project’s significance, saying, “This initiative is a significant step towards growing a new generation of innovators who will lead Pakistan’s tech industry on the global stage and bridging the technological skills gap.”

IST is in the forefront of encouraging students to use emerging technologies because it has been actively involved in empowering young minds through workshops, training programs, and summer schools.
IST has also started the process of finding Tech Fellows with experience in both technology and education for this initiative.

The “Disruptive Education” project is likely to have a significant positive impact on the job market in Pakistan:

  • Skill Development:

By equipping young people with cutting-edge tech skills in AI, robotics, and other emerging fields, the project will create a more skilled workforce. This will make graduates more competitive in both local and global job markets.

  • Job Creation:

The focus on entrepreneurship and innovation will encourage the creation of new startups and businesses, leading to job creation in various sectors.

  • Industry Growth:

As more individuals gain expertise in advanced technologies, industries such as IT, manufacturing, and services are expected to grow, further boosting employment opportunities.

  • Economic Development:

A technologically skilled workforce can attract foreign investment and partnerships, contributing to overall economic development and stability.

  • Bridging the Gap:

The project aims to bridge the technological skills gap, ensuring that more young people are prepared for the demands of the modern job market.

Overall, the “Disruptive Education” project is poised to transform the job market by fostering a new generation of tech-savvy professionals and entrepreneurs.
