In a landmark step towards digital transformation, Pakistan’s Ministry of IT and Telecom (MoITT) has partnered with Binance Academy to convey blockchain training to tens of thousands of students across the country.

This initiative, introduced through a strategic collaboration with a prominent international cryptocurrency platform, aims to deliver blockchain and Web3 instruction to 300 educators and 80,000 students across 20 universities by 2026.

The partnership is part of Binance’s Global University Outreach Program (GUOP), which represents the industry’s most extensive blockchain education initiative, designed to foster a new generation of Web3 experts. The program aligns with Pakistan’s national digital transformation objectives, establishing the nation as an emerging hub of blockchain knowledge.

Under the agreement, university educators will undergo intensive training in blockchain fundamentals, which include BNB Chain, Solidity programming, and crucial Web3 standards. Upon certification, they’ll independently learn the newly advanced curriculum. Students completing the courses may even receive reliable accreditation.

“As blockchain transforms the international financial domain, equipping individuals with the necessary skills is vital,” remarked Bader Al Kalooti, Head of Boom and Operations for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia at Binance. “This collaboration signifies a substantial advancement towards cultivating a knowledgeable workforce ready to spearhead digital innovation.”

Embracing the initiative, Minister of IT and Telecom Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted its potential influence on Pakistan’s long-term economic trajectory. “This collaboration aids our digital shift by establishing Pakistan as a global source of proficient blockchain talent,” she stated.

Binance Academy active in Pakistan since 2022

In collaboration with Binance and the Blockchain & AI Technology Center, we are equipping our students to thrive in the digital marketplace. Binance Academy has been active in Pakistan since 2022, having successfully educated more than 3,000 students across 13 universities in 3 provinces.

The new program broadens that initiative on a national scale, harnessing previous success to provide extensive access to advanced technology education. Globally, the GUOP commenced in Kazakhstan in 2023 and has since expanded to over 20 countries. Its overarching aim is to impact on more than 200 universities across 50 international locations, reaching one million students by 2026.

The Binance Academy–MoITT partnership signifies a major leap in integrating blockchain education into Pakistan’s academic structure. By concentrating on practical abilities and global competitiveness, the initiative is anticipated to nurture a generation of innovators ready to lead in the virtual economy — both locally and internationally.
