Atlas Honda Limited, a prominent player in Pakistan’s motorcycle sector and a subsidiary of Shirazi Investments (Private) Limited, has announced plans to launch an electric scooter locally within the current fiscal year.
This move aligns closely with the government’s National Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy, which aims to promote cleaner, sustainable, and affordable transportation while reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
Tailored for Pakistani Consumers:
The electric scooter is being designed specifically to cater to local needs, with Atlas Honda working closely with regulatory authorities to secure the necessary permissions and approvals. The
company emphasizes that the product will launch after completing stringent quality assurance and road testing procedures, ensuring reliability and safety for consumers.

Alignment with National EV Policy:
The initiative is part of a broader government drive to increase the share of electric vehicles in the market. Under the National EV Policy, there is an ambitious target for 30% of all new vehicles sold in Pakistan to be electric by 2030. This push is expected to save nearly 2.07 billion liters of fuel annually, equating to almost US$1 billion in foreign exchange savings.
Industry Impact:
In Pakistan, where motorcycles are a popular form of transportation and a major source of urban pollutants, Atlas Honda’s entry into the electric scooter industry is viewed as a key step in hastening the adoption of environmentally friendly two-wheelers. This full-scale commercial deployment is the result of their previous efforts, which included the 2023 soft launch of the BENLY e-scooter at the Sheikhupura facility.
The launch is expected to bring modern, green mobility solutions to a broad section of Pakistani consumers. By offering an electric scooter designed specifically for local conditions, Atlas Honda is not only supporting environmental sustainability but also contributing to reduced operational costs and cleaner urban air.
Moreover, successful adoption of electric two-wheelers could spur further investments into the EV sector, enhancing technological innovation and offering more employment opportunities in green industries.
