After a decade, the Sialkot Express train service has officially been restored, much to the delight of the local community. The revival of this historic train was celebrated with immense enthusiasm at the Sialkot Railway Station, where residents gathered to welcome the train’s arrival with traditional drum beats, dancing, and a shower of flower petals.
A Long-Awaited Return
The return of the Sialkot Express generally marks the fulfillment of a long-standing demand by the masses of Sialkot. Most of the local travelers, businesspeople have requested to resume this express as this is the major link in connecting Sialkot city with some of the major cities like Wazirabad and Lahore.
Revived Route for Regional Connectivity
As per the Station Master, the restored service is likely to start operating on the following route:
• Lahore → Wazirabad → Sialkot
• Sialkot → Wazirabad → Lahore (return route)
This route is specifically created to:
• Ease daily travel for commuters
• Reduce road traffic on the congested Lahore-Sialkot highway
• Boost business and tourism by providing a reliable travel option
• Promote regional development and integration
