Pakistan’s first robotic bariatric surgery performed at CDA Hospital

Capital Hospital CDA, in a first-rate medical breakthrough, has correctly done Pakistan’s first robotic bariatric surgery during the 2nd Pakistan Obesity Week, marking a new generation of advanced surgical care in the United States. 

The landmark manor was inaugurated by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who emphasized the hospital’s commitment to healthcare innovation. 

“This robotic surgery represents a technological milestone for Pakistan’s medical region,” Randhawa stated. “We’re determined to provide world-class facilities for each Islamabad citizen and CDA employee.” 

Dr. Naeem Taj, government director of CDA hospital, defined the advantages of robot-assisted surgery, noting its “advanced precision, minimal invasiveness, and faster patient recovery.” Technology allows for smaller incisions, reduced blood loss, and shorter health facility stays compared to traditional strategies.

The week-long event featured live surgical demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and expert discussions with renowned bariatric surgeons from Pakistan, the UAE, Turkey, and Taiwan. 

Dr. Tanseer Asghar, the event coordinator, emphasized its role in promoting international collaboration and skill enhancement among Pakistani surgeons.  

Prof. Dr. Shoaib Shafi, the president of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), commended the initiative and promised ongoing support for advanced surgical education at the hospital. 

Chairman Randhawa further introduced plans to enlarge such applications, positioning CDA Hospital as a leader in robotic and bariatric surgery. 

The successful event underscores Pakistan’s growing capabilities in high-tech medical approaches, offering new hope for patients struggling with obesity-related health issues.
