For many young Pakistanis dreaming of studying at top universities in the United States, that dream just got a lot closer. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced a new round of fully funded PhD scholarships under the US–Pakistan Knowledge Corridor Project, offering students a chance to study at some of the world’s best universities — without worrying about finances.
The program aims to build stronger academic and research ties between Pakistan and the US, while helping Pakistan develop a new generation of highly skilled researchers and innovators.
A Chance to Study at the World’s Best
Under this initiative, selected students are going to get the opportunity to study at Top 300 QS World-Ranked Universities in the US. The scholarships are divided into two categories:
For those admitted to the Top 50 universities, the scholarship will cover the following
- Full tuition fees
- Monthly living allowance
- Health Insurance
• For universities ranked 51 to 300, students are going to receive up to $12,000 per year in tuition support, along with a stipend and health insurance.

HEC officials keep on saying that the program is part of their broader mission to help Pakistan’s brightest minds gain exposure to global research environments and bring that expertise back home to strengthen the country’s academic and industrial sectors.
The US–Pakistan Knowledge Corridor is one of the largest education partnerships between the two nations. Over the next few years, thousands of Pakistani scholars are anticipated to pursue PhDs in the US via this initiative. After completing their studies, they will return to contribute to the universities, industries, and government institutions of Pakistan.
How to Apply for US Scholarships
Applications are now open via the HEC Scholarship Portal at scholarship.hec.gov.pk.
• For Spring and Summer 2026 admissions, the last date is November 15, 2025.
• For Fall 2026, the last date to apply is April 30, 2026.
