Chery expands electric lineup in Pakistan with launch of Omoda E5 SUV

Following its partnership with NextGen Auto, a subsidiary of the Nishat Group, Chinese automaker Chery has launched another electric SUV in Pakistan — the Omoda E5.

Pakistan’s electric vehicle (EV) market just took a major leap forward with the official launch of the Omoda E5, a sleek and feature-packed electric SUV.

Arriving alongside the Jaecoo J7, the Omoda E5 comes through a partnership between Chery Automobile and NextGen Auto Pvt. Ltd., a Nishat Group subsidiary already well-known for assembling Hyundai vehicles in the country. 

The launch signals a new chapter in Pakistan’s transition to cleaner and more sustainable transportation. With a price tag of Rs. 8.99 million, the Omoda E5 emerged as the most prominent and the most affordable electric SUVs in the market, making EV ownership a highly realistic endeavor for more Pakistani families. 

The length of this is 4,424 mm, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,588 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,630 mm, the Omoda E5 is compact enough for city driving yet spacious enough for families. Its modern design includes  

  • Full LED lighting for better visibility 
  • 18-inch alloy wheels 
  • Roof rails 
  • Sunroof with a retractable shade

 Rain-sensing wipers, puddle lamps, and heated side mirrors further adds to the premium experience.

Comfort Meets Technology Inside 

The cabin of the Omoda E5 is designed to rival luxury vehicles. It boasts a dual 12.3-inch LCD cluster and multimedia touchscreen paired with a Sony 8-speaker sound system, supporting Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth.

Both front seats are powered, with ventilation for added comfort in Pakistan’s hot climate. Rear passengers benefit from AC vents, USB ports, and multicolor ambient lighting. It has five seats and a split-fold rear design, the SUV is both practical and comfortable. 

Powerful Performance with Impressive Range 

A 150-kW permanent magnet synchronous motor powers the Omoda E5, and it is delivering 204 hp and 340 Nm of torque. The vehicle supports

  • Normal 
  • Sport drive modes

Offering flexibility for city commutes or highway trips. Its 61 kWh LiFePO4 battery promises up to 430 km WLTP range (or 505 km under NEDC standards) on a single charge. 

Safety is considered to be a top priority. The E5 includes six airbags, ABS, EBD, BAS, and ESP. 

Moreover, it also includes ISOFIX child seat mounts, and emergency braking systems. A 360° surround-view monitor, reverse camera, and front and rear parking sensors ensure confident driving in busy city streets. 

Booking and Availability 

Priced at Rs 8,990,000, the Omoda E5 can be booked at a price of Rs 1,700,000, with deliveries expected within 2.5 months. Industry experts keep on saying this launch could accelerate Pakistan’s EV adoption, especially as the government pushes for 30% of all vehicles to be electric by 2030. 

For many in Pakistan, the Omoda E5 isn’t just a car — it’s a step into the future of green mobility.
