Pakistan’s electric vehicle landscape is slowly but steadily evolving, and the latest addition is the Alektra Metro EV, a compact city car aimed at budget-conscious urban commuters.

The company has introduced the Metro in both 2-door and 4-door variants, and it is targeting small families, students, and daily office-goers who want to get rid of the rising fuel costs.

Alektra Metro EV Variants, Battery Options, and Range

The Alektra Metro EV comes with three lithium battery configurations:

• 7.2 kWh – entry-level option, and it is offering an estimated range of around 80 km

• 10.8 kWh – mid-range setup with improved distance

• 12.96 kWh – top-end battery, with a claimed range of up to 180 km on a full charge (under ideal conditions)

Why is Alektra Metro EV the best?

These ranges make the Metro primarily suitable for short city commutes, school runs, and errands rather than long-distance highway travel.

For many urban users, a daily round trip of 30–50 km means they could manage with charging just a few times a week.

Alektra Metro EV Pricing and Limited-Time Discount

Alektra has positioned the Metro as one of the more affordable EVs in Pakistan:

• 2-door variants start from Rs. 1.095 million

• 4-door variants start from Rs. 1.295 million

To sweeten the deal, the company was offering a flat Rs. 50,000 discount on all variants for customers who book before 30th November 2025. Bookings require 20% of the invoice price as advance, with a 90-day estimated delivery time. Visit the site for booking details.

Who Is the Metro For?

The Alektra Metro EV is clearly designed as an urban mobility solution:

• It is considered to be an ideal choice for crowded city roads, narrow streets, and short trips

• A potential second car for families who already own a petrol vehicle

• A fuel-saving option for people tired of fluctuating petrol prices

Its compact size and electric drivetrain can make parking easier and running costs much lower than traditional small cars, assuming electricity remains cheaper than fuel.

Challenges and Questions Ahead

Despite the excitement, some key questions remain:

• Charging infrastructure: Most buyers will likely charge at home. Public chargers are still limited in many cities.

• Durability and after-sales service: Consumers will want to see how the Metro performs on rough roads, speed breakers, and in extreme weather.

• Battery life and maintenance costs: Long-term battery performance will be crucial for resale value and trust.

The Metro EV arrives at a time when interest in EVs is rising due to fuel prices and import restrictions on conventional cars. But without strong government incentives or a robust charging network, its success will largely rely on real-world performance and customer appreciation.

For now, the Alektra Metro is considered to be a promising step toward more accessible electric mobility in Pakistan — but the real test will begin once these cars hit the streets in large numbers.
