Islamabad is set to display a major leap in healthcare facilities with the federal government’s approval of the Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Project, a modern tertiary care hospital that will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 212 billion.

The project promises not just a hospital, but a full-fledged healthcare and research hub designed to meet the rising medical needs of the country.

The new medical complex will be furnished with world-class

Besides treatment, the complex will also serve as a research center, contributing to medical innovation and training for future doctors.

Approval and Oversight

The decision emerged during a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Friday. The committee not only gave its approval but also instructed the formation of a dedicated oversight body.

A Step Toward Health Security

For Pakistan, where healthcare challenges remain pressing—from overcrowded public hospitals to a lack of specialized research facilities—the establishment of this modern hospital in the capital city is considered to be a ray of hope.

Once completed, it will not only enhance treatment standards but also create jobs, foster medical research and contribute to Pakistan’s long-term goal of achieving health security for its citizens.
