Pakistan’s journey toward cleaner, more affordable transport has taken an exciting step forward with the entry of Terra Motors, a leading Japanese electric mobility company. The firm has officially launched its flagship Kyoro electric three-wheeler, a modern e-rickshaw designed to transform urban commuting and last-mile delivery.
The Kyoro isn’t just another rickshaw — it’s a serious upgrade for drivers and passengers alike. Built with efficiency and reliability in mind, the three-wheeler offers a driving range of up to 200 km on a single charge and a top speed of over 55 km/h.
Its powerful 11.7 kWh battery pairs with a two-speed gearbox, giving it smooth acceleration and the strength to tackle slopes as steep as 22 percent — a big plus for hilly routes.
Another standout feature is its fast-charging time. With just four hours to fully recharge, drivers can get back on the road quickly. Combined with low running costs, the Kyoro promises a solid alternative to traditional fuel-powered rickshaws, which have become more expensive to operate as petrol prices rise.
Terra Motors’ Vision for Pakistan
Speaking at the launch, Go Suzuki, Managing Director of Terra Motors Corporation, said the Kyoro represents more than just a vehicle — it’s part of a broader vision to reshape Pakistan’s urban mobility.
By cutting fuel dependency, the Kyoro can
- Minimize costs for drivers
- Create new business opportunities
- Support a cleaner transport system in crowded cities
Suzuki kept on emphasizing that the move also depicts Terra Motors’ long-term dedication to Pakistan, both in terms of job creation and technology transfer. The company is actively looking for local distributor partners, aiming to build an ecosystem that promotes
- Investment growth
- Skill development
- Local value addition
Why It Matters
With public demand for affordable and eco-friendly transport on the rise, the Kyoro is going to change the lives of urban commuters and delivery businesses. It means higher earnings for drivers, indebted to lower fuel and maintenance costs.
For passengers, it guarantees safer and more comfortable rides. And for Pakistan as a whole, it’s another step to promote a greener, more sustainable future.
