The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has declared a major initiative to strengthen security and improve urban planning in Islamabad through a door-to-door survey aimed at building a comprehensive database of all residents.

The exercise, based on geo-tagging, will capture accurate details of households, including location, residence type, and citizen information, covering urban areas, rural communities, and informal settlements.

Meeting Reviews Plans for Survey and Mobile App

The decision was made during a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa. The session was attended by senior officials, including CDA Member Administration and Estate Talat Mahmood, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, DIG Islamabad Police Jawad Tariq, along with representatives from the Ministry of Interior, District Administration, NADRA, and the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

The CDA emphasized that the survey, coupled with the development of a mobile application, will not only improve the safety and protection of citizens but also deliver a reliable foundation for effective development and planning across the capital.

Integration with “Pak ID” App

During the meeting, NADRA officials briefed participants on the “Pak ID” mobile app, which will allow citizens to register themselves from home through a simple and user-friendly process requiring minimal data entry. Chairman Randhawa directed that the app be further improved for ease of use and integrated with other existing digital systems.

The app will also feature automated data collection, enabling residents to submit details more efficiently. Information about family members, tenants, relatives, and foreign nationals will be gathered to strengthen Islamabad’s security framework.

Awareness Campaign and Technical Support

The CDA will also seek support from Suparco for imagery assistance. Besides this, a public awareness campaign will be launched to encourage citizens to actively participate in both the app-based registration and the physical survey.

Chairman Randhawa kept on stressing that the initiative would help the district administration and other agencies in

  • Planning
  • Service provision
  • Long-term development

He reaffirmed that ensuring peace and security in Islamabad is still a top priority and that all available resources will be mobilized to complete the goal.
