Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) has forged a partnership arrangement with HUBCO Green (Private) Limited (HGL), an affiliate of Hub Power Holding Limited, to establish and promote electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at various APL sites throughout Pakistan.
“We are happy to announce that Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) has entered a partnership deal with HUBCO Green (Private) Limited (HGL), a wholly owned affiliate of Hub Power Holding Limited.
“By the agreement, APL and HGL will construct and market infrastructure for charging electric vehicles (EVs) at a few APL locations throughout Pakistan.” The notice stated, “The agreement was signed on April 24, 2025.”
HUBCO Green inaugurated its first EV charging station at Ocean Mall, Karachi, on January 21, 2025, with plans to establish advanced and reliable EV charging infrastructure across the country, including motorways, highways, major cities, and destination charging avenues, including upscale malls and commercial areas.
It later announced a collaboration agreement with Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO) in February 2025 to install EV charging infrastructure at PSO locations across the country.

To expand local EV production, the government granted licenses to 57 EV manufacturers in February this year, including 55 manufacturers for two- and three-wheelers, while two were for the assembly of four-wheelers.
In addition, the government announced that, beginning in the year 2025, it would “make EVs accessible to the masses” by lowering the tariff for EV charging stations by 45 percent, from Rs 71.10 to Rs 39.40.
The government’s push to develop the EV sector includes the licensing of 57 EV manufacturers in early 2025. HUBCO Green’s partnership with PSO for EV charging stations further supports this initiative. The goal is to ensure reliable and widespread access to charging stations nationwide, contributing to the EV industry’s growth.
To make EVs more affordable, the government also reduced the tariff for EV charging stations by 45%. This price cut, lowering the charge from Rs 71.10 to Rs 39.40, is expected to encourage more people to switch to electric vehicles.
