In a significant development for the residents of Hazro tehsil, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has announced the launch of electric buses to provide affordable, eco-friendly public transport, along with the long-awaited establishment of a passport office to serve the local population.
Addressing a large and enthusiastic public gathering on Tuesday, the governor said that these initiatives were part of his commitment to improving the lives of the people. He emphasized that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has always stood with the working class and will continue to deliver practical relief rather than mere promises.
“I never lobbied for this position; it came to me as a blessing through the prayers of the poor,” he said, receiving a warm round of applause from the crowd.
Several key PPP figures were there in the event, including District President Sardar Ashar Hayat Khan, Sardar Zulfiqar Hayat Khan, Malik Riyasat Sadriyal, Sardar Muhammad Ali Khan, former vice chairman Malik Tahir Awan, Sajid Khan, Khurram Shehzad, and other local leaders. As a gesture of respect, a traditional Chhachh shawl was presented to the governor.

Promises of Justice and Accessibility
Governor Haider assured the attendees that the Governor House would remain open to the people of Attock and Chhachh, promising fairness and accessibility for all, regardless of political affiliation.
“As long as I am here, no injustice will be tolerated against the poor,” he vowed with conviction.
He further pledged to do all the steps for resolving the gas load-shedding issue within a week, adding that the electric buses would be launched soon — either via provincial government collaboration or, if needed, through his personal efforts.
Tribute to Local Spirit
Calling the people of Chhachh “brave and resilient,” the governor kept on saying that they were the pride of Attock district. He showed admiration for the role of local journalists, praising them for amplifying the voice of the masses.
“The office of governor is considered a trust of the people, and I will safeguard it with full dedication,” he summed up.
