Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have introduced 24/7 driving license services along with designated priority slots and timings for different citizen categories.
ITP announced the new time-slot-based schedule for different categories of citizens to make the driving license process easy and convenient without facing overcrowding.
Chief Traffic Officer Hamzah Humayun, while speaking to the media, explained that the decision was taken to make sure convenience, dignity, and efficient service delivery, particularly for vulnerable and working groups.
Priority Time Slots Announced
Under the newly introduced system, Police khidmat Markaz Centers in Faizabad and F-6 will be open 24 hours to facilitate the public. The following schedule will be observed at the driving license centers in Islamabad:
7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
This slot is reserved for the people listed below
- Ladies
- Senior Citizens
- Retired Government Officials
This slot is especially designed for a comfortable and hassle-free environment for the masses who cannot wait for a long time and face difficulty standing in a long line.

12:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 12:00 AM to 7:00 AM
These slots are also designed for the general masses so that they can get the facility from the facilitation centers.
5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
o Government Employees
o Private Sector Workers
o University and College Students
9:00 PM to 12:00 AM
o Professional Drivers
o Riders
o University and College Students
CTO Hamzah Humayun said this timing was specially chosen to facilitate those who cannot visit during office hours due to professional or academic commitments.
General Public Access
While priority slots have been introduced, the ITP clarified that the general public can continue to avail licensing services from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM on all working days.
“This system is not to restrict access but to improve service delivery. Every citizen is welcome — we have simply structured the hours so that everyone gets fair and timely service,” the CTO added.
Encouraging Online Pre-Booking
Hamzah Humayun further advised applicants to book their appointments online through the official ITP portal to minimize waiting time. Walk-in applicants will also be entertained, but priority will be given to those arriving during their designated slots.
Citizens are happy after the implementation of this strategy, particularly working professionals and senior citizens who previously struggled with long delays. The Major aim behind the ITP is to create a more civil, highly organized, and people-friendly licensing system in Islamabad.
