Pakistan’s electric car market is getting more competitive as Chinese automaker Kaiyi officially enters the country through Q-Autos, the automotive arm of Q-Links.
The launch gives Pakistani buyers a new EV option in two key segments: a compact city hatchback and an electric family crossover. Q-Autos introduced the Kaiyi e-Qute 04 in 300km and 400km range variants, along with the Kaiyi X3 Pro EV crossover at a launch event in Lahore.
Why Kaiyi’s Entry Matters
Pakistan’s car market has long been dominated by expensive petrol vehicles, high fuel costs and limited small-car choices. Kaiyi’s arrival is important because it brings another Chinese EV brand into a price range where many urban buyers are already searching for alternatives to local hatchbacks and compact crossovers.
The timing is also important. Petrol prices remain high, imported car duties have changed, and more consumers are comparing fuel savings before making a purchase. For daily city users, an electric hatchback under Rs4 million immediately becomes a serious talking point.
Kaiyi e-Qute 04 Price in Pakistan
The most attention-grabbing model is the Kaiyi e-Qute 04, a compact electric hatchback aimed at city buyers.
The 300km range variant has been priced at Rs 3,990,000, while the 400km range version is priced at Rs 4,690,000. The company’s latest expo update listed a Rs 1,000,000 booking amount for both variants, with deliveries expected between September and December 2026, depending on the version.
Earlier launch details also showed regular prices of Rs4.49 million for the 300km variant and Rs5.19 million for the 400km variant, with introductory pricing capped for the first 200 units.
Kaiyi e-Qute 04 Key Specs
The e-Qute 04 uses a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery, a chemistry known for durability and safety. Both variants use a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing around 40kW, equal to roughly 54 horsepower, and 110Nm torque. The 300km version comes with a 28.08kWh battery, while the 400km version gets a 39.826kWh battery.

The hatchback also supports DC fast charging, with reported 30% to 80% charging in around 30 minutes. Features include a 360-degree camera, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, keyless entry, six-speaker audio, USB/Type-C ports and vehicle-to-load style reverse charging support.
Kaiyi X3 Pro EV Price and Specs
For families looking at a bigger EV, Q-Autos is also bringing the Kaiyi X3 Pro EV crossover.
The X3 Pro EV has a regular price of Rs7,490,000, while the introductory price for the first 200 units was set at Rs6,790,000. Q-Autos is launching the top-tier Flagship variant in Pakistan.
The crossover comes with a 49kWh LFP battery, 120kW power, around 280Nm torque, and a reported driving range of 368km NEDC in the specification table. It also offers 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sky screen, 10.25-inch digital display, rear AC vents, electric parking brake, auto hold, hill assist, hill descent control and a 360-degree camera.
Local Assembly Could Be the Real Game Changer
Q-Autos has also announced plans to establish a local CKD assembly plant in Pakistan in the future. If that happens, Kaiyi could reduce costs, improve parts availability and build stronger buyer confidence.
That last point matters. Pakistani buyers have seen many new brands enter the market, but after-sales service, spare parts and resale value often decide long-term success. For Kaiyi, the product pricing is attractive, but the real test will be dealership coverage, warranty support, battery service and parts supply.
Kaiyi Is Expanding Globally
Kaiyi is not entering Pakistan in isolation. The company has been pushing a broader international expansion strategy. In 2025, Kaiyi Auto said it aimed to expand into more than 80 countries and regions by 2030, supported by more than 1,000 sales and service branches globally.
That global push gives Q-Autos a stronger brand story, but Pakistani customers will judge the company locally. A strong international plan only matters if buyers in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Faisalabad and Multan can get service, warranty claims and spare parts without delays.

Should Pakistani Buyers Consider Kaiyi?
Kaiyi’s biggest advantage is pricing. The e-Qute 04 300km variant under Rs4 million makes it one of the more affordable EV hatchbacks in Pakistan, while the X3 Pro EV places an electric crossover into the same price discussion as many petrol SUVs.
However, buyers should ask three questions before booking:
- How strong will the 3S dealership network be?
- What battery warranty and service support is offered?
- How quickly will spare parts become available?
If Q-Autos answers these properly, Kaiyi could become a serious player in Pakistan’s growing EV market.
Bottom Line
Kaiyi’s entry gives Pakistan’s auto market another affordable Chinese EV option at a time when buyers are actively looking beyond petrol cars.
The e-Qute 04 targets city drivers who want low running costs, while the X3 Pro EV targets families considering a crossover without fuel bills. The prices are aggressive, the specs are competitive, and the EV timing is right.
Now Q-Autos must prove it can deliver cars on time — and support them after the sale.
