Austria continues to attract Pakistani tourists with its beautiful landscapes, rich history, and vibrant culture. But while the dream of visiting this European gem is strong, one major hurdle in 2025 is meeting the strict financial requirements for the Austria Schengen visa.
Many applicants have to face rejection not because of missing documents, but due to incomplete or weak proof of finances. Austrian authorities desire to be sure that anyone entering the country can comfortably support themselves during their stay—without facing financial difficulty or becoming dependent on local services.
Bank statement is mandatory
For Pakistani travelers, the most important document is a bank statement from the past six months. This should be from either a savings or current account, and must have to indicate the
- Account holder’s name
- Consistent transactions
- Bank’s official contact details and branch address

While Austria doesn’t list a fixed minimum amount, travelers are generally expected to have around €100–€120 per day of their stay. For someone planning to stay the full 90 days allowed on a Schengen visa, this means showing proof of funds between €9,000 to €10,800, or almost Rs. 3 to 4 million, as per the currency rates.
Other necessary things for applying Austria Schengen Visa
Besides financial proof, applicants must also provide:
• A valid passport
• Travel insurance covering at least €30,000
• Hotel bookings or accommodation details
• Return flight reservations
• Proof of employment or income is required (for instance you can show job letter, salary slips, or business documents)
In Pakistan, VFS Global handles the visa process, and the centers are operating in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. All applicants now just have to visit in person for biometric verification and document submission. The total fee in 2025 is Rs. 22,560, and the visa and VFS service charges both are added in it.
Processing time
Processing time requires 10 to 28 working days, so it would be considered to be wise if you apply sooner. With proper documentation—especially a clear and solid bank statement—Pakistani travelers have the capacity to improve their chances of visa approval and enjoy a smooth journey to Austria.
